Jolanda Spadavecchia is a senior researcher. Her research activities are focused on the realization of nanoparticles and biosensors. In particular, she is interested in the processes responsible for the bioconjugation of protein, macromolecules or DNA oligonucleotides onto gold nanoparticles and substrates for the creation of optical biosensors. She is currently involved in the synthesis of Polymeric nanoparticles and the development of Nano-hybrid materials for Nanomedicine. Actually she has an active collaboration with Berlin and Louvre Museum in order to establish the mechanism responsible of the AuNP formation at the surface of ancient ivory objects from different archaeological and historical contexts.

Elsayed Elkhatib is a Professor of Environmental Soil Chemistry at Alexandria University in Egypt; he received his PhD Degree in Soil Chemistry from West Virginia University, USA. He worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher in Appalachian Soil and Water Conservation Research Laboratory at Beckley and as a Visiting scientist at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, at Blacksburg for two and a half years. Dr. Elkhatib research emphasizes the fate and transport of contaminants under field and laboratory conditions. Elkhatib supervised /supervising 10 PhD and 30 MS students. He is the recipient of numerous international research and higher education development grants. He is the author of 15 books and more than100 reviewed Journal articles and the Editor-in -Chief and Editor of two international journals. Professor Elkhatib is currently a director of the program on Developing MS in Water Research Management at Alexandria University" and is engaged in several projects on the subject of developing “green”, low-cost nanomaterials derived from bio-wastes and industrial wastes for remediation of contaminated water and soil.

Dr. Michael Nastasi is the Director of the Nebraska Center for Energy Sciences Research at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He is also the Elmer Koch Professor of Mechanical and Materials Engineering. Mike’s personal research interests include ion-solid interactions, irradiation induced phase transformations, nanomaterials for extreme irradiation environments, ion irradiation and plasma modification of materials, ion beam analysis of materials, synthesis and properties of high strength nanolayered composites, and surface mechanical properties. He has co-authored more than 550 refereed publications, authored the books entitled Ion-Solid Interactions: Fundamentals and Applications, published by Cambridge University Press in 1996, Ion Implantation and Synthesis of Materials, published by Springer-Verlag in 2006, and Ion Beam Analysis: Fundamentals and Applications, published by CRC Press in 2015, and edited several volumes including the MRS best seller, the Handbook of Modern Ion Beam Materials Analysis.

Research interests include ion-solid interactions, irradiation induced phase transformations, nanomaterials for extreme irradiation environments, ion irradiation and plasma modification of materials, ion beam analysis of materials, synthesis and properties of high strength nanolayered composites, and surface mechanical properties.

Michal Petru received his Ph.D. degree and is Associate Professor in design and machine parts from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Technical University of Liberec, Liberec, Czech Republic. In present time, Petru is Head of Department of Machinery Construction at the Institute for Nanomaterials, Advanced Technology and Innovation, Liberec, Czech Republic. He is author or coauthor of many scientific and professional publications for area numerical modeling and optimizing design machine (more than 50 publications in databases SCOPUS and ISI WOS, 20 patents and utility samples). His main interests are related to engineering, textile engineering, agricultural science, environmental science, and R&D in new materials applicable for optimizing design of parts and machines.

Francesca Nanni has completed his PhD in Materials Engineering from the University of Rome Tor Vergata. She is currently associate professor at the faculty of Enigneering at the University of Rome Tor Vergata, memer of INSTM, and of ECNP (The European Center for Nanostructured Polymers). She has published more than 70 papers in reputed journals and has been serving as an editorial board member of repute.
