Biography
Dr Rakesh Joshi is lecturer at the School of Materials Science and Engineering. He completed his PhD from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi in the area of functional nanomaterials. Prior to joining UNSW he was a Marie Curie International Fellow at the University of Manchester. Dr Joshi is in the editorial board of many journals and he is a RACI Chartered Chemist. Dr Joshi has developed experimental methods to prepare Graphene, Carbon Nanotubes and Semiconductors for various applications. Dr Joshi’s breakthrough work on Graphene Oxide membranes is amongst the most influential contributions to this area (R. K. Joshi et al, Science 2014).

His research interest includes: 2D Materials (Graphene & Metal Chalcogenides); Nanomaterials; Semico nductor Thin Films; Sustainable Materials.
